Executive Trial Counsel for the US at the Nuremberg Trial Robert Storey presents to the court Hitler's letter on the mass murder of the terminally ill as an act of mercy.

“Reichsleiter Bouhler and Dr Brandt are charged with the responsibility of enlarging the authority of certain physicians to be designated by name in such a manner that persons who, according to human judgment, are incurable can, upon a most careful diagnosis of their condition of sickness, be accorded a mercy death. Signed, A. Hitler”

Bouhler and Brandt were responsible for implementing Aktion T4, a forced euthanasia programme for people with mental disorder, the mentally impaired, and those with severe inherited diseases, later expanded to include patients with severe chronic illnesses, the disabled and people with disabilities.
