The Soviet Prosecution at Nuremberg demands journalists follow censorship rules.

 

Extract from Protocol No. 12 detailing the Soviet Prosecution Commission’s meeting at the Nuremberg Trials:

“Ruled:

а. To instruct Comrades Kuzmin, Rudenko, and Nikitchenko to warn all correspondents and employees of our delegation that they can cover in the press only documents and facts presented at the trial.

b. To ensure that articles do not make any forecasts about the outcome of the trial or the verdict of the Court.

c. Members of the Commission must never use the materials of the Commission for their speeches in the press without prior discussion on the Commission”.
