Specifically for the International Military Tribunal, American director Ray Kellogg created the movie “The Nazi Plan” that was based on the script of Budd Schulberg and captured archival video materials of the Reich Ministry of Propaganda and German’s propagandistic film magazine “Die deutsche Wochenschau.”

The film consists of four parts, which demonstrate the entire path of how the National Socialist regime in Germany came about – from the founding of the party in 1920 to the outbreak and waging of aggressive war up to 1944. The total combined length of all parts is nearly four hours.

The second part of the movie - “Acquiring totalitarian control of Germany, 1933-1935”- shows a ritual of book-burning which was held as a part of “Action Against the un-German Spirit” that was carried out by the German Student Association on 10 May 1933 in Berlin. During the action, Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels made a speech about the purification of the German spirit from elements alien to it.
