Event: The French Occupation Zone's administration needs newspapers to give daily coverage of the events in the Nuremberg trials.
Location: The city of Baden-Baden in the French Occupation Zone.
Administrator General of the French Zone of Occupation in Germany, Emile Laffon, instructed all newspapers in his district to allocate space every day to publishing accounts of how the Nuremberg Trials were progressing, as well as articles by two authors whom he named. A similar document - "Propaganda Policy of Overt Allied Information Services" - had been in effect in the American zone since 22 May 1945. The Soviet and British occupation administrations also intervened directly in the media.
